Our beautiful neighbor, Kiki, gave us a big problem
She would visit us, work, dance, or sing a native song
Her main desire was no secret, for she often said
"When you go to America, I am going along"

An answer of what to tell was at our back door
Growing in a crack of an old concrete walk
A spiny plant struggled, as it proudly grew
The dainty flower waving in the air, trying to talk

It was trying to say, my seed by chance landed here
I had a choice, weather away, or survive each day
Today my flower is as beautiful as any in the world
Growing was not easy, but success came my way

Our answer now was easy
God placed your seed here
BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE
Be it here, or some place far
