The original version of this tune was released as, "We Need a Little Christmas." The song has been repurposed to celebrate spring.

Open the window!
Go buy some tulips ‘till the sun comes out again.
Clear out the cobwebs,
I may be rushing things, but mow the grass again now.
For we need a little springtime,
Right this very minute.
Birdies in the window,
Squirrels in the thicket!
Yes, we need a little springtime,
Right this very minute.
It hasn’t rained a single drop,
So daffodils are still in pots!
Go trim the bushes,
Get out the fertilizer from the shed again.
Get out the pruners, it’s time we hung some baskets.
Spread it out again now.
For I’ve grown a little fatter,
Grown a little warmer,
Grown a little wiser,
Grown a little older.
And I need a little angel,
Sitting on my shoulder.
We need a little springtime now!
For we need a little music,
Need a little laughter,
Need a little singing, ringing through the rafter.
And we need a little rainbow,
Happy ever after
We need a little springtime now.
