Marilyn Wallner

Marilyn Wallner

Marilyn Wallner, an unapologetic memoirist, took her first train ride in utero. Her mother boarded the Southern Pacific from Tucson, Arizona to Los Angeles in the last month of her pregnancy vowing “never to have a child in the desert!” Marilyn is the proud possessor of an elegantly engraved birth certificate from the no longer existing Hollywood Hospital. Reared and educated in Tucson with her older sister, she graduated from Stanford in 1951. She lived and worked in San Francisco until her husband finished law school. Thence to Sacramento where he practiced law and where they reared their children. She is determined (and eternally vigilant) to keep technology at bay and uses a pre-World War II manual typewriter.
