What Pink Means To Me

What Pink Means To Me

This is the story of Annabell Hobbs, as told to Hannah Fink.

Growing up I had four sisters, and I grew up in a very Catholic home. I was the eldest ... and instead of being able to go out with friends I had to watch my sisters. One thing we did a lot was makeovers and dress-up. This was something that in retrospect brought us closer. And growing up I helped them make outfits and still did their makeup either for school, dances or dates. My parents weren't a fan of pink, so of course I added my own touch of pink. Hair bows, eye shadows, necklaces ... I would give them little things of pink to wear for special occasions, and seeing the joy on their faces and how happy they were is what pink means to me.
